Conlon Construction understands the importance of environmental issues and recognises that construction processes can play a significant part in contributing to the wider environmental picture. We aim to conduct our business in such a way as to meet the needs of the present generation without comprimising the ability of future generations to achieve their aspirations.
Conlon has achieved accreditation under ISO 14001:2004.
Responsibility for environmental issues lies with departmental managers, but overall policy is directed from the Board through the Construction Director, Michael Conlon. A copy of our Environmental Policy is available on request.
It is worth noting that Conlon Construction has never been charged or convicted of any offence realting to environmental legislation.
Economic sustainability involves efficient use of resources, labour, materials, water and energy. Environmental sustainability helps to prevent harmful and potentially irreversible effects on the environment. In co-operation with Clients and their Advisors, we strive to use natural resources, minimise waste and protect the environment wherever possible.
In carrying out its activities, the company aims to:
- promote good environmental practice and sustainability;
- comply with all relevant environmental law and statutory provisions;
- protect and improve the environment;
- prevent pollution;
- minimise energy and water usage;
- promote the re-use and recycling of goods and materials;
- minimise waste.
